The following persons where victims
of the Great War. In some cases their sole link to Buckingham may be to
appear on Buckingham's memorial (this memorial appears to have a regional
scope, covering the lower Lievre). The association of a casualty
with a battle is mine, based on the war diaries of units.
The french words "tranchee" and
"ligne", in the following table, respectively mean "trench" and "line".
Voici les codes detaillant le type
de deces | Here are the codes detailing the casualty type:
TC : tue au combat/killed in action.
MQ : disparu (et presume mort)/missing
(and presumed dead).
MB : mort de blessures/died of
wound.
ACC: mort accidentele/ accidental
death.
MM : mort de maladie/died of disease.
GAZ: Victime du gaz/Gas victim.
Aucun code: recherche en cour.
No code: on going research.
