Bogus Quebec Central Locomotives:
After the lease of the QCR by the CPR, any required additional or replacement motive power came from the ranks of the CPR fleet. Usually -- especially until the later years of steam operations -- CPR engines were sold to the QCR, and, becoming QCR property, were lettered Quebec Central.
There were a number as well that were only leased to the QCR; since they remained CPR property the Canadian Pacific lettering should  have remained unchanged.
It is evident from photographs however that some leased engines did improperly receive Quebec Central lettering. Those that are known to have been re-lettered are:
    1072    1083    1108.
(Any evidence of  additional numbers is appreciated).
