The Museum of the Richmond County Historical Society is over 100 years
old. In its past, it has served as a dwelling, a hospital and an inn. In
1967, the Society acquired the present house in the township of Melbourne
through the generosity of Mr. Newlands Coburn for use as a Museum. Restored
by the society and furnished with numerous articles donated by friends and
members, the Museum opened to the public as a typical home in the era of
the last century.
The Society offers guided tours of the Museum during the summers
as well as group tours to schools and other organizations.
Please note that the museum operates only during the summer season.
