Michel Bettez, bassoon:  Mr. Bettez holds a First Prize (bassoon) at the unanimity of the jury from the Conservatory of Montréal. He also holds a performance diploma from the Hochschule für Musik of Munich. Michel Bettez has been the principal bassoon of the Orchestre Métropolitain since autumn of 1984 and solo bassoon of the Nouvel Ensemble Moderne since 1989. He is also principal bassoon of the Orchestre Symphonique de Laval and has held that position since 1990.  Bassoonist of The Musica Nova Ensemble, The Estria Woodwind Quintet and Trio Musica, he has also worked with the Orchestre de chambre de McGill, I Musici de Montréal, the Montréal Symphony Orchestra, the Montréal Opera, Les Vents de Montréal and he was the bassoonist of the woodwind quintet Pentaèdre from 1985 to 1995. He has performed in Canada, the United States, Europe, Japan and Australia. Michel Bettez has been the bassoon professor at the Conservatory of Montréal since 1993.
