Louis Gasnier

Ancestor of the first decendant of Gagné American family.

Among the ancestors Gagné, one of them, Louis Gagné should be one of the holders of the most huge descent and by the same fact the grandfather of the most Gagné family.
He had been baptismed to ST MARTIN, to IGE. He was born on 13 september 1612, from Louis and Marie Launay. Louis worked as a miller with his father to Guemansais. Later on , he worked to the miller's Courtoulin structure, parish of Saint COME.

Around twenty six years, he decided to get married : He choose Marie Michel, daughter of the late Pierre and Louise GORY.

Around 1643, Gagné jumped over the ocean. One text of a clerk of the court, Henri Bancheron, allow to retrace them living in Quebec, Louis used to practise
a digging job. He became the big manager of the St CHARLES farm for six years, that is to say from 1646 to 1652. The 20 october 1650, Olivier Tardif conceded five parts of the land in the ouest of a big river called now Ste Anne De Beaupré.

Marie, Pierre, Olivier, Louis 2, Anne, Ignace et Joachim continue to preserve the Gagné's name.
They arrived generously into the region of Charlevoix, Cap st Ignace, Petite riviere, ste Anne du Petit Cap and the surroundings.

Ancestor of the second descendant of Gagné family and American Bellavance.

Eldest brother of the previous, baptismed to IGE into the Mans in 2 january 1610, he lived to Saint Come De Vair in 1640 and to Courcival in 1651.
He is get married in France in 1639 with Marguerite Rosée, daughter of Jean Rosée and Catherine le Barbier de Jauzé.

Pierre is mentioned for the first time in Canada to the daughter's Marguerite baptem, the 14 september 1653 in Quebec. The 30 november 1635, he witnessed to the wedding contract of Louise Gasnier, his niece, with Claude Bouchard.

Baker, Pierre lived in Quebec and Ste Anne de Beaupré.

Six children was born by this union : Jacques, Jean, Louis, Pierre, Nicolas, et Marguerite. Louis be called Bellavance, sieur of Fresnays, is get married with Louise Picard and from this period there was the begenning of the Bellavance's descendants.

The conditions of daily life and the roughness of the country reduce the lifelenght. Effectively, he died by slow fever the 26 april 1956, he left behind him a widow and children without father.
