Dragon Slayer
Faaren is a peaceful and happy Realm, ruled by a wise King... until the Demon Lord Ackram overruns the kingdom with his black legions and terrifying dragons, killing the King and capturing the Queen. But the King's young son, Sirius, is swept away to safety and grows to be a powerful young warrior, tutored in the ways of swordsmanship and chivalry by his father's loyal minion, Rias.
Together Sirius and Rias protect the helpless villagers from Ackram's Tyranny... until the day they come face to face with the demon Zagi, a servant of the evil Lord, able to shapeshift into a fearsome dragon. Captured and imprisoned in the castle, Sirius learns that the mother he thought was long-dead, is still alive and held captive. He must set her free, and avenge his father's death. But in doing so, he will have to battle the limitless powers of the monstrous dragon Zagi.

Sounds nice?
Well, if you answered yes, then be careful, otherwise you might be disappointed. This story is not really that great. Maybe, just maybe, some Dragonball fans may enjoy it. Otherwise… You see, except some fast paced action, there's not much of a story (classic story… a demon/sorcerer comes, take over a kingdom, kills the king, neglect to kill the prince, then years later the prince comes back…) and the characters are sorta empty, without much personality. The visual work isn't really great and to make thing worse the dub is not really good. Don't get me wrong: it's not that the voice actors are bad. In fact, I'm pretty sure the main VA are the save VA that does Tenchi and Washuu in Tenchi Muyo… and I LOVE the dub Washuu! It's more of a matter of bad casting. The voices simply doesn't fit the characters.
At least the box art is nice...
Not a recommended title. Personally, the greatest value I've found on that tape was the Gatchaman preview at the beginning… In sort, it is NOT recommended. Watch some Tenchi Muyo, El-Hazard or Neon Genesis Evangelion instead...
