18.12.2005 Make a wish/ Faire un souhait!
Today is a great day! I had quite a lot of fun and. I have received many gifts amongst which I have gotten a golden chain with Boudha, a pearl chain and even an ear ring... I am so happy to see all my cousins here, oh boy we might need more space to run around!
I am a big girl now and will sleep by myself from now on!
On my second birthday, the physician predicted me to be 5 feet 3 or more! I am quite happy since I will be taller than my parents! But the most important thing I wish on my birthday is to be first in class and to be always with my parents for life. I love them!

03.12.2005 I love drawing / J'adore dessiner
Papa bought me this elephant pen which I do a lot of drawings with. Mom did my hair with beautiful Chinese style! I learned a lot at school too. Moreover, I know now how to fold my hand
to ask for a favor! My parents show me also how to say bye when leaving the house to the elderly, especially my grand-parents. I also know how to pray in front of the Boudhas in my dad remote's office.
Papa m'a acheté ce petit stylo d'éléphant avec lequel j'utilise pour dessiner. Maman a fait mes cheveux à la chinoise! Mes parents m'ont montré comment croiser les bras pour demander une faveur, surtout pour dire bonjour ou au revoir à mes grand-parents quand on arrive d'école ou partir pour le shopping. J'ai appris aussi comment prier devant les Boudhas au sous-sol de mon Papa.
26.11.2005 My first school picture / Ma première photo d'école
Yeah! I am growing up. Today, at 1 year and 11 months, my height is exactly 1 meter and my weight is about 11 kg which makes ONE my favorite number! Since this is my first picture taking, I am not so sure how to behave and I am kind of sad here. I promise I will smile the next time. Anyway, I love my school, I learn dancing and singing every Friday which is also my favorite day. Other than that, I love chocolate!
Ah oui! J'ai grandi. Aujourd'hui, je mesure exactement 1 m et pèse 11kg, comme quoi j'aime beaucoup le numéro 1. Etant donné que c'était ma première prise de photo à l'école, je ne savais comment réagir face au caméra. Mais je vous promets la prochaine fois, je vais faire un beau sourire. En tout cas, j'adore l'école surtout le vendredi ou il y a un cours de danse et de chante. A part de ca, j'adore du chocolat! Je bois facilement de l'Ampiciline à condition qu'on me donne du chocolat par après!
Bref, mon anniversaire s'approche et j'espère que je vais avoir beaucoup de cadeaux! (j'ai déjà un cadeau qui vient de Rimouski, merci beaucoup M&Mme AWP)
18.11.2005 My Christmas tree is up / J'ai décoré mon sapin de Noel
Voilà à 23 mois, je suis aussi grande que maman pour pouvoir décorer l'arbre de Noel toute seule! Cette année, nous avons mis l'arbre dans le sous-sol que Papa avait fini pendant l'été. Maman m'a également acheté un bonhomme de neige avec musique que j'adore! Noel se promet avec la visite de l'oncle 4 et anh Bi anh & Bi em. Ce sera la première fois que je les voir vraiment car la dernière fois je ne suis que né quelques jours!
Here I am again! One month to two years old, I am old enough to decorate the Christmas tree all alone! We put this year, this tree in the beautiful basement that my Dad finished in the summer. Mom bought me also this snowman with music that I love so much. This will be a special Christmas since that will be the first time that I will meet my far-away cousins, Bi anh & Bi em brothers. The last time, I was just born a few days when they came to visit me in the hospital! That is all for now as far as I can remember!

Une année s'est écoulée entre la prise de ces deux photos, voyez-vous la différence? C'était à l'occasion de la fête commémorative de l'arrière Grand-Mère que je me suis réunie avec mes deux tantes: Bach Tuyet (à gauche) et Tuyet Mai (à droite). Encore une fois, les mets traditionels vietnamiens étaient au menu: cha gio, sup mang cua, mi xao don, goi tom, vit quay, bo kho...
Another year has flown by between the taking of these two pictures, do you see any difference? That was an excellent family reunion to commemorate the Great-Grand Mother's passing-away about 7 years ago (the mother of the mother of my dad). Tata Caroline is on the left hand side (11/2005) and Tata Julie is on the right hand side (11/2004).

Wow! I am almost 22 months today. Behold! My birthday is approaching. I like singing a lot! I've got to sing a song before falling asleep in the arms of my Mom. Yeah I am very lucky that my Mom loves me so much! She can't sleep without me! :-). Me neither! don't you see my T-shirt? Yesterday, my mom sang to me the cat & mouse song, I just told her: let me try this mom and it went all along with me as if I knew this song for a longtime, my dad was totally surprised and proud of me, it goes something like this: ♪♪ The Cat likes climbing on the coco tree, asking politely uncle Mouse where he has been away from home, uncle Mouse went to a supermarket far away, buying fishes and a bit of salt to commemorate the Cat's father death anniversary! ♪♪ ( in Vietnamese: Con meo ma treo cay cau, hoi tham chu chuot di dau vang nha, chu chuot di cho duong xa, mua mam, mua muoi gio cha chu meo!) Now try it in French! No way! said my dad, he has had enough headache to translate this into English and it is far from quite well! This time, there won't be any French! Sorry! unless Mom willing to help here! :-)
30.09.2005 My First Apple Picking/Ma première cueillette de pomme
Here comes my first going-out for an apple picking. My mom took a day off to come with me a
nd Mimi. That was a beautiful day with a lot of sunshine but it was a little bit cold. Even though, as you can see in the picture, I was as tall as three apples, I was able to pick a lot of them with Mimi since luckily enough, the apple trees were not that tall. I brought back in total 2 bags full of apples for my Grand-Parents.
C'était ma première sortie pour une cueillete de pomme. Maman a pris une journée de congé pour m'accompagner. C'était une journée ensoleillée mais un peu froide. Comme vous voyez bien sur la photo, même si je suis seulement aussi grande que trois pommes, j'ai réussi à en cueillir beaucoup avec Mimi et j'en ai rapporté à la maison 2 sacs plein de pommes pour Mami et Papi. Heureusement que les pommiers ne sont pas très hauts!
28.08.2005 Back to school / C'est la rentrée!
Finally this special day has come! This is my first day to school. Mom took a week of vacation to drive me to school. I was afraid and cried all the morning but it is alright after a week now! We have some fun playing in the park with a lot of sand (new English word that I have learned). I have a lot of friends and learned many new things like drinking milk in a cup and eating pizza! I love it! But we have to do that by ourselves now, no more pity! I am also in the same class with my beloved cousin Mimi! We have a lot of fun! Another week then we will be full time! Awesome!
Que voulez-vous? Cette journée spéciale est arrivée! J'étais toute prête pour mon premier jour à l'école. Maman a pris une semaine de vacances pour prendre soin de moi. J'ai pleuré pendant toute la matinée. Grand-Maman ne voulait pas partir de l'autre coté de la porte. Nous avons aussi beaucoup d'activités, nous jouons dans le parc avec beaucoup de sables. Nous devons manger tout seul comme des grands et boire de lait dans un verre. Nous mangeons aussi du pizza! Heureusement que j'étais avec ma cousine bien-aimée Mimi, elle a pleuré aussi mais moins que moi, je crois! Nous sommes correctes après 1 semaine! Espérons ca ira mieux la semaine prochaine!

Yeah that's me! I enjoy playing with the mouse very much! This is the basement of my house where my dad uses to work remotely, basically this is his home office! I also play chess on the Internet with the assistance of my dad! My vacation is almost finished, I am ready to go to the new school in 2 weeks or so.
Eh oui c'est moi, j'adore jouer avec la souris. C'est le sous-sol de notre maison ou mon papa travaille souvent. Je joue aussi aux echecs sur le site de ICC.

It's Summer time / C'est l'été!
This is my first Bikini! I love pool at ba noi 's home! The water was so fresh! I was a little bit afraid that I can't swim but my cousin Lyly was helping me. With that sunshine, I will also need my sunglasses!
C'est ma première sortie à l'eau, j'adore prendre un bain en plein soleil! Je suis aussi équipée avec mes lunettes de soleil!
Ici, ma cousine Lyly m'a réconforté dans la piscine. C'était super! Je reviendrai chez ba noi bientot! J'espère que l'été dura longtemps cette année!
08.06.2005 Alert Roséole!
J'ai eu mon vaccin contre la varicelle le dimanche. Tout a bien été jusqu'à mardi. Mercredi, je commence à avoir une petite fèvre qui s'accentue chaque jour. Jeudi, ma température monte jusqu'à 39,2 mesuré à l'aisle. J'ai pris du Tempra au 4-5 heures, Grand-maman met deux bouteilles d'eau froide à mes cotes. Vendredi, Maman m'a ammené voir Dr.Rabin, il dit que j'ai un virus et n'a pas donné de médicament. Samedi, je commence à avoir de petits boutons, mes parents sont paniqués, ils pensent que j'avais la varicelle car mon corps était trop failbe pour contrer le vaccin. Dimanche, les boutons deviennent de plus en plus gros et il y en a beaucoup au cou. Lundi, Maman m'a ammené de nouveau voir Dr.Rabin, il dit tout de suite que j'ai la Roséole, il y a rien à faire et ca devrait se guérir tout seul dans 4-5 jours. Hier, mes boutons se déplacent tranquillement vers les jambes et aujourd'hui, je suis presque guérie! Demain, je retournerai à la garderie! Voilà termine mon aventure avec cette maladie Une chance!
Avis aux parents: Roséole: Maladie infectieuse due à un virus. Elle est fréquente chez l'enfant de 3 @ 24 mois. Elle se caractérise par une forte fièvre qui dure 3-5 jours puis chute brusquement. Par la suite, de petites taches rosées couvrent le visage, le cou et le tronc. Mode de transmission inconnu, pas de vaccin, peu contagieuse, immunise probablement pour toujours. Incubation: indéterminée, se situe entre 5 @ 15 jours. Contagion: probablement pendant les 4 jours qui suivre le début de la fièvre. Evolution: Une fois l'éruption apparue, l'enfant est à peu pres guéri; dans la majorité des cas, l'état reste bon. Durée de la maladie: environ 1 semaine Que faire? il n'y pas de traitement. Donnez de l'acétaminophene (Tempra) pour faire baisser la fièvre. Faites boire fréquemment! Source: Institut national de santé publique du Québec.

I am very proud to announce to you that I will attend my first class in August. I will have many new friends. I am very excited about this. I stated to talk a lot now, my favorite words are: buom boom (Butterfly), chim chich choe (black bird), con kien (ant), bong bong (baloon), cho ca an (feed the fish)... Last Sunday I went to St-Sauveur with my parents and I saw alot of kien bay (flying Ant) :-) My favorite cousins are: Nini, Dang Dang, Lili, Mimi and my favorite friends are Tit Tit and Tania but my best of all are: Papi and Mami, they are staying with us now, I am very happy!
Je suis tres heureuse de vous annoncer que j'irai a l'univeriste prochainement au mois d'aout. J'aurai beaucoup d'amis, je suis tres excitee de cette nouvelle. Je commence egalement a parler beaucoup. Mes mots preferes sont: buom buom (papillon), chim chich choe (oiseau noir), con kien (fourmi), bong bong (baloon), cho ca an (nourir les poissons)...Dimance dernier, je suis allee a St-Sauveur avec mes parents et j'ai vu beaucoup de fourmis voles (moustiques). A mes 16 mois, j'ai eu droit à une petite sortie entourés de petits gars, de gauche à droit : Félix (8 mois) Xavier (2 ans et demi) et mon cher Vincent (13 mois) qui a eu ses petits piqures dernièrement, je lui ai donné un petit bisou mais il était gêné! Il savent tous marcher avant moi!
On my 16 months, I was allowed for a small visit to my new friends (from left to right) : Felix (8 months), Xavier (2 years and a half) and Vincent (13 months). Of course, they all walk before me, not difficult to beat though. I gave Vincent a little kiss but he was a little bit shy! Félix is a very cool guy! He is pretty big for 8 months you might say! at least compared to myself!

Secret revealed / secret revelé
This is my echo four months before my birth, I was predicted to be a boy named Jérémy, but this is not a secret I want to talk about. I promised to tell you where my nickname Kiki comes from, no it is not from the American Sweet Heart movie. You're right, this is the name of the dog as my dad considers me the little one! Thirty years ago, my Mom happened to call her Shepherd lived on her penthouse Kiki-a-Lulu and this is where my nickname comes from. I am wondering what my next brother or sister nick is ? Or do I have one at all ? I chose this date to tell you this story to mark my real Day-One in my Mom's womb two years ago!
Ceci est mon échographie quatre mois avant ma naissance, le Doc a prédit que j'était un garçon mais ce n'était pas le secret dont je voulais vous parler. Je vous ai promis, surtout à ma tante Caroline de vous réveler d'ou mon surnom Kiki venait, non ça ne vient pas du film American Sweet Heart. Vous êtes correct, c'est le nom d'un chien mais pas n'importe lequel. Trente ans auparavant, Maman appelait son Berger Allemand Kiki-a-Lulu et c'est là d'ou vient mon surnom! Je me demande quel sera le surnom de mon frère ou soeur s'il y en a! J'ai choisi cette date pour vous rélever ce secret car aujourd'hui est mon vrai Jour 1 dans le ventre de ma mère il y a deux ans!

Tribute to Daddy's Papa / A la mémoire du Grand-Père / Lê~ Thanh Minh
Aujourd'hui, nous sommes allés à la pagode Liên-Hoa pour prier pour mon Grand-Père paternel. C'est la fête Thanh Minh. Papa m'a raconté que c'était Grand-Père qui lui a appris à jouer aux échecs en 1983. Grand-Père
était un très bon joueur, il était encore meilleur aux échecs chinois (co tuong). Quand mon Papa a battu le champion en titre de Saigon au championnat A1 en 1986, Grand-Père s'est mis à danser tout seul, il était très fier et à la surprise de tout le monde, il sortait un billet de 50 piastres et donnait à Papa, c'était très dole à voir! Le temps s'est volé très vite, c'est bientot 17 ans que Grand-Père était parti de ce monde et ça fait 30 ans que nous avons perdu Saigon. Grand-Maman avait 40 ans sur cette photo. 1975 1983
Today, we went to Lien-Hoa Temple to pray for Grand-Father. My dad told me that Grand-Father taught him chess back in 1983, he was a very good chess player even better in Chinese chess. When my dad beat the Champion of Saigon in 1986 A1 Championship, Grand-Father went outside and danced all alone by himself, he was very proud and suddenly he took out of his pocket a 50-buck bill and handed it to Daddy, it was a very funny moment in life to watch! Now time has flown by, Grand-Father passed away already 17 years and it has been 30 years that we have lost Saigon. Grand-Mother was only 40 years old on this picture.
07.04. 2005 Me voilà de nouveau / I am here again!
Re-bonjour les amis! L'hiver a été dur cette année qui a causé mon absence de 3 mois sur ce site, veuillez m'excuser! J'ai été malade encore 2 autres fois. Finalement, je suis sortie célébrer Paques pour la première fois avec des animaux des fermes, je les adore! Ba ngoai m'a également offert ce tuque de nuit pour me protéger contre les virus, c'est très chaud et confortable! Je suis bel contente! J'ai hate de pouvoir sortir jouer dehors! Papa et Maman m'ont acheté de beaux souliers rouges, eh oui je marche finalement le jour du printemps, un peu tard dites-vous!
Hi it's me again. Winter was tough this year which caused my 3-month absence on this site, please forgive me! I was sick 2 more times. We finally went out on Easter Day to see animals from the farms at Mail Champlain. Grand-mom bought me a night hat to protect me from the virus, it's very warm and comfortable, I am very happy. I can't wait to come out to the backyard to play around. My parents also bought me beautiful red shoes, I finally walk on the Spring day, a little bit late, you might say!
